Check in daily for a new story. This is not a linear production. Things will change. That’s the beauty of Life.
How we measure Everyday Impact
Every story is rated on five plain questions: does it touch your home life, your job, your money, your learning, or the planet? More filled circles mean it matters more to a regular Wednesday. That’s the whole method — no jargon required.
Homogeny is the Death of Humanity
Everyday, we should work towards a world that WE create. The more perfection we seek, the more we loose what makes us unique. Because what is perfection? I see it every day walking past a group of people who have no particular place to be but present. A yard full of flowers and even weeds where butterflies and bees can rest, not a manicured lawn that needs more water in a summer day than a human needs in one week. Don’t conform to the world. Conform your world to you.

The Data Center Next Door: Who Pays the Water Bill?
A new AI facility promises jobs which means a better economy. But at what cost? Is it sustainable? Will the community really benefit from this? Millions of gallons. Soaring temperatures. More Electricity. There is an alternative.

COMMUNITY
How a Group of Artists Built a Collective to host Residencies for cheap across California
Some festival goers wanted to grow their community and spend more time doing what they loved most, CREATING, so they worked together acquiring lofts, one at a time in cities that would increase their exposure that would have otherwise be too expensive alone.

A guy who switches careers the way people exchange their phones, finds himself building AI assistants
for people, their jobs, and businesses.
Here is how he began, and how you can start after this weekend.

For five months, James Maddox poured every second, and calorie, he had into learning everything he could about how AI is shaping the world and how it works. He definitely lost a few pounds during this process, spending as many 18 hours swiping through articles while scrawling notes on architect’s planning papers, which he later transferred to his laptop.
Hundreds of free YouTube videos at 1.75x and a $20 a month subscription to Claude by Anthropic. No tuition. No classroom. Just one question opening the doors to hundreds more.
From asking a machine for what it needs in order to give me the best results asking a person what it is that they desire, James went from learning how to speak with precision to learning how to listen even more intently.
By learning how a machine worked he could understand more about him self and others. He was not “a tech person” he’s never written a line of code, and he still haven’t. Simply asking the right questions and giving precise directions, his AI assistant, who’s been trained on how he works, begins the process on making his debut media company Move Smart, Bay Area! (this is not an excited voice, its slightly irritated).
I opened more and more doors of information that deepened my understanding while lowering my ability to share the knowledge. There were days that I would sleep for 2 hours and hop back on my laptop because I thought of a new connection between concepts I was learning. My advice for anyone looking to dive into AI tech: start with one honest question. What is your purpose and what do you desire?

What a "Home AI Server" Actually Does for you and Your Culture
tiny home server on a shelf

The home AI server allows for culture to come back in a way that the internet has been dissolving for years, and has blocked from happening again. It looks like having ability to build and build with non algorithmic influences. You and your friends with sync’d servers to share information with each other. Only you guys are seeing it and can comment on it and can grow it. It’s your own tribe of people, sharing their unbridled interests in the safety of your truly private social media. Your interests aren't being harvested, commodified and sold for profit by someone who isn’t apart of your culture to someone who’s actually in your culture

What NOT Having a Data center in your back yard looks like.
SubStack
Coming soon!
Having a data center in your backyard does not look like a big ass building that covers the size of 20 football fields or more. It looks like having a Double stacked air conditioner, system inside or outside of your home. It looks like water not being wasted by the ton. It looks like you not having to pay a monthly subscription for your data to be hosted in a cloud service that you will not have access to if you happen to be without service. It looks like biodiversity not being bulldozed over.
More columns fill in as opening week continues.
